This week, we’re excitedly looking forward to the start of the SCUMRUN – the wild ride which this year takes the racers around the beautiful island of Ireland.
Competitors take part in teams, customising their cars and wearing fancy dress as they drive from point-to-point along a route provided by the SCUMRUN team.

This year’s race is in aid of CHUMS Charity – and we can’t wait to see how the fun unfolds!
Nik Demetriades, Charity Director at CHUMS Charity is taking part, along with my co-pilot Alex Dencheva.
“En-route, we’ll be doing our best to raise as much money as possible for CHUMS. The tour is around 2,500 miles in total, so we’ve set ourselves the target of raising £2,500 – that’s just £1 per mile.”, said Nik. “We’ll also be raising awareness of the important work undertaken by our friends at CHUMS CIC – who support children, young people and families who are dealing with trauma, bereavement and other mental health needs. Without their important work, many young people in Bedfordshire, Luton and further afield would struggle to cope.
“The race begins on Thursday, and of course we’re a bit nervous. To be honest, we’re not entirely confident that our vehicle will cut the mustard – but we’ve packed our toolbox, and we’ll do our best to keep going as we drive around beautiful Ireland. Most importantly, we need your help to keep the fuel tank full – so please give generously via our Just Giving page.”
We’ll be posting daily updates along the way, so please do like, share and comment on our posts which you’ll find on our social media as well as on this website.
