We are always looking for fundraising volunteers to support us at community events, collect cheques on our behalf, help with bucket collections and speak about CHUMS charitably funded services.
Volunteering for CHUMS Charity
CHUMS Charity needs volunteers to help deliver its services. Volunteers help make services more cost effective at a time when funding is reducing and resources are fewer, which means we can support more children, young people and their families. Many of our volunteers are ex service users who want to give something back and many of our staff started their CHUMS journey as a volunteer.
Volunteers support CHUMS Charity in a number of ways:
- Fundraising by holding their own events or by supporting our Fundraising team
- Driving children, young people and families, who would otherwise not be able to access group programmes
- Mentoring within our Young Carers Service
- Supporting bereaved children, young people and families in groups and individually
- Supporting children and young people with anxiety and ASD in a group setting
- Supporting young people with disabilities in a weekly social setting
On the Become A Volunteer section you will find information about what you will need to do to support CHUMS Charity with any of these roles as well as an application form which you can complete and forward via email. Our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Jean Gray: jean.gray@chums.uk.com, will be able to help you with any questions.
We recruit volunteers using ‘safer recruitment’ processes, which means we will take up references, ask you to complete an occupational health questionnaire and ensure you have an enhanced DBS clearance prior to supporting any of our service users or their families
