SHINE BRIGHT WEAR BRIGHT 2024
SIX CHILDREN IN EVERY CLASSROOM HAVE A DIAGNOSABLE MENTAL HEALTH DISORDER. ONLY ONE CURRENTLY RECEIVES SUPPORT…
COULD YOU CHOOSE WHO IS LEFT OUT?
You can help CHUMS to change this, so that children who need support CAN access it.
This Children’s Mental Health week we’re asking you to Shine Bright Wear Bright on Friday 9th February 2024. This is a chance for every child in your school to express themselves by shining bright for the day.
This year’s theme is ‘My Voice Matters’. School children, staff and customers are encouraged to talk about mental health, being kind and being ourselves, ending the week with a non-uniform ‘wear bright’ day with children and staff donating £1 to CHUMS. Schools, nurseries and organisations can also take part in other fundraising activities such as a talent show, a sponsored silence, cake sales or sponsored football events.
This year, we are asking everyone to take part in SHINE BRIGHT, WEAR BRIGHT, fundraise for CHUMS and talk about mental health.
We are grateful to our sponsors – issured.

CHUMS has supported more than 3,500 children and young people in 2023 across Luton & Bedfordshire. Many of these children and young people face challenges making it hard for them to focus at School. CHUMS has developed a unique service delivery model to ensure that children and young people are able to access a service that supports their individual needs.
By shining a light to raise awareness and by helping to raise vital funds for CHUMS during Shine Bright Wear Bright week, together we can get closer to a future where every child has easy access to the mental health support they need.
CHUMS Charity services include:
- Trauma (bereavement and non-bereavement)
- Bedfordshire Suicide Bereavement Service (BSBS)
- Disability Friendship Scheme
- Recreational Therapy (therapy through music or football programmes)
- Babyloss
